Overview
3D Model Viewer
Connect your project model to the Parts and Assemblies your teams manage in Fabritec. Select a linked element, inspect its item information, and review production, quality, holds, material shortages, and assembly readiness in 3D.
What's included
- Connect model elements to existing Fabritec Parts and Assemblies. Configure IFC property matching separately for each item type within the selected Building and Phase.
- Review matching results before saving links. Investigate unmatched elements, monitor saved-link coverage, and remove incorrect associations when corrections are needed.
- Inspect IFC properties and linked Fabritec item information in separate tabs. Verify item marks, materials, profiles, drawing numbers, quantities, Building, and Phase without losing model context.
- Review the model using Color by modes for Item status, Production stage, Production completion, Quality and rework, Holds and blockers, Material shortages, and Assembly readiness.
- Review new elements, missing elements, retained links, and entries needing link review after an IFC update. Version comparison checks element identities and links, not geometry.
Benefits
- Spend less time cross-referencing model elements, item marks, and separate production records.
- Give engineering, production, quality, and project teams a common visual reference for the same Part or Assembly.
- Bring spatial context to production, quality, blocker, shortage, and assembly-readiness discussions.
- Reduce ambiguity when similar item marks appear across different Buildings or Phases.
- Keep model updates connected to link review so new or missing elements and associations needing attention are not overlooked.
- Make technical and project discussions easier to explain with focused model views, screenshots, and linked item information.
What it solves
Replace fragmented work with a controlled flow.
Before Fabritec
- Project models and production records are reviewed separately, requiring manual cross-referencing to identify the item being discussed.
- Production stages, quality issues, and shortages are discussed through lists without a shared view of the modeled work.
- Similar marks across Buildings or Phases make the intended item association unclear.
- Model updates leave teams unsure which elements are new, which are missing, and which links require attention.
- Teams depend on verbal explanations to understand which component a production or project discussion concerns.
With Fabritec
- Model elements connect to existing Parts and Assemblies through reviewed links, with associated item information available in Properties.
- Operational Color by modes bring production, quality, blockers, shortages, and assembly-readiness information into model context.
- Building- and Phase-scoped matching helps establish the intended item context before links are saved.
- Model-version review identifies new elements, missing elements, retained links, and entries needing link review.
- Part and Assembly selection, focused model views, and linked-item properties give teams a common visual reference.
Best for
Built for demanding execution environments.
Use this capability wherever work crosses stages, teams, or operational handoffs.
Engineering Teams
Inspect IFC properties, configure item matching, and review element and link continuity when project models are updated.
Production and Planning Teams
Review production stages, completion, holds, material shortages, and assembly readiness in the context of the linked model.
Project and Site Managers
Use focused model views and screenshots to explain the items being discussed during project reviews and site coordination.
